Hi, all.

It seems like I haven't written a diary since Christ was a cowboy, which is going back a ways.

This one isn't very extensive, either, but after poking around the site via search I figured to look for an answer this way.

Please hold my hand as we hop over the calligraphic puddle...

Like many (most?) DKos members, I came for the politics but stayed for the community. So many of my most treasured encounters, interactions, and friends have been the direct result of this place - online and in the flesh.

It's in that spirit that I ask these questions - is there anything here already going on with regard to support for folks who are acting as caregiver to their spouse/partner? If so, could you point me there? If not, is there an interest in developing a forum to do so?

Though commonmass's diaries about Green Mountain Boy2 are the most recent (and powerful) examples, so many others have reached out in similar ways for the almost nine (9!) years I've been around here. The response is always heartening.

I also know there are groups/diaries for folks living with cancer, experiencing loss and grief, and maybe also even being a caregiver to a friend, parent, or other - I just haven't been able to find that last one.

But I'm particularly interested in spousal/partner caregiving, because of the unique pressures/challenges/strains associated with such a role transition.

I've learned about the Well Spouse Association, with chapters and groups around the country (including one in my general neck of the woods). A friend has said she'll hound me incessantly until I hook up with them.

But this is a powerful place for me, too.

So......

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
